The Ground Rules

As a general rule, I don't screen or delete comments. The First Amendment rocks!
I don't like swearing. I believe it should only be used sparingly, and for dramatic effect. If you swear profusely in your comments, use racial slurs or other coarse language, I will be left with no choice but to delete your comment. I prefer not to do this, but I do have standards.
Insulting people in the third person is tolerable, within the rules above. Insulting myself or other commentators is not.
Repeat offenders are subject to extreme ridicule. If you don't like it, go start your own blog about what a tyrant and a crackpot I am.
In spite of my mostly rational nature, I am also a creature of whimsy and discord. As such, these rules are subject to change without warning. ("They're more like guidelines, anyway!")
